Alisa Weilerstein Makes U.S. Summer Festival Appearances

This August, Alisa Weilerstein makes summer festival appearances across the U.S.

Alisa joins forces with Gil Shaham and the Boston Symphony Orchestra on August 11 at Tanglewood’s Koussevitsky Music Shed for the Brahms Double Concerto for violin, cello, and orchestra. Alisa then makes her way to the Aspen Music Festival, where on August 14 the Weilerstein Trio — comprised of Alisa and her parents, violinist Donald Weilerstein and pianist Vivian Hornik Weilerstein — presents the Ives Trio for Violin, Cello, and Piano, Op. 86. On August 18, Alisa performs Shostakovich’s meditative Second Cello Concerto with conductor John Nelson and the Aspen Chamber Symphony.

At the La Jolla Music Society SummerFest on August 23, Alisa reunites with pianist Inon Barnatan and clarinetist Anthony McGill following their U.S. tour last winter to perform the Brahms Clarinet Trio in A Minor. Alisa joins Inon, Michelle Kim, Eugene Drucker, and Paul Neubauer for Brahms’s Piano Quintet in F Minor in a program that also spotlights her performance of Bach’s Cello Suite No. 3 in C Major.
