January 2018 Concerts with the New York Philharmonic & Hallé Orchestra

Alisa Weilerstein commences the new year with the New York Philharmonic, performing Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations from Jan 4-6 & 9. She is joined at David Geffen Hall by conductor and pianist Jeffrey Kahane in a program of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17 and Haydn’s Symphony No. 98.

Alisa then joins the Hallé Orchestra at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall on January 18. In an all-Shostakovich program conducted by Sir Mark Elder, she presents the composer’s first cello concerto. They then perform Shostakovich at Sheffield City Hall on January 19, in an evening that also hears Delius’s Paris: The Song of a Great City and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
