Schumann & Shostakovich with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra

Alisa Weilerstein joins Switzerland’s Lausanne Chamber Orchestra in December for two programs at Lausanne’s Salle Metropole and Geneva’a Victoria Hall, respectively.
On December 12 and 13, she presents her interpretation of Schumann’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in A Minor under Jukka-Pekka Saraste, which is paired with Sibelius’s Rakastava and Bartok’s Divertimento for String Orchestra. She then performs the Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1 on December 16 under Rafael Payare, part of a program that also includes Mozart’s Symphony No. 29 and Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht.
Enjoy Alisa’s interpretation of the Shostakovich cello concertos on her recent Decca Classics release Shostakovich: Cello Concertos 1 & 2, available now on iTunesAmazon, and Spotify.
