ALLISON LOGGINS-HULL
WebsiteAllison Loggins-Hull is a flutist, composer, and producer whose work defies classification. She has been associated with acts across the spectrum of music including Flutronix, LA Phil, Lizzo, Imani Winds, Re-Collective Orchestra, Alicia Hall Moran and Jason Moran. Her music is resonant with social and political themes of the current moment, encompassing motherhood, Blackness, and cultural identity.
In 2022-23 Loggins-Hull begins a three-year tenure as the Lewis Composer Fellow with the Cleveland Orchestra. This season will culminate in the world premiere of Can You See? in a new version for full orchestra. The season includes a premiere almost every month, including works for acclaimed chamber ensemble yMusic at Carnegie Hall; a collaborative song cycle with Toshi Reagon for Alarm Will Sound at the University of Maryland; a solo cello piece for Alisa Weilerstein; a new work for Ensemble Cygnus; and with ETHEL, she performs the world premiere of Persist for flute and string quartet at the Brooklyn Public Library.
Also in 2022-23 Loggins-Hull tours with Flutronix and Third Coast Percussion and at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson, for Alicia Hall Moran and Jason Moran’s vaunted Two Wings: The Music of Black America in Migration. Loggins-Hull currently lives in Montclair with her family.
