Alisa Weilerstein’s January/February 2026 Highlights


To kick off the year, Alisa will perform Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto with the Palm Beach Symphony (Jan 13). In Europe, she plays the Britten Cello Symphony with Alan Gilbert leading his own NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra (Jan 22–25) and a recital of Brahms and Prokofiev with Russian pianist Pavel Kolesnikov in Wigmore Hall (Jan 26). Alisa will then travel to Spain to perform the Lutosławski Cello Concerto with the Spanish National Orchestra under the baton of Krzysztof Urbański (Jan 30–Feb 1)

She returns to the Detroit Symphony for performances of Joan Tower’s A New Day, a piece co-commissioned by the orchestra, conducted by Music Director Jader Bignamini (Feb 13–15).

New Pintscher cello concerto with the composer and DR SymfoniOrkestret


Alisa Weilerstein presents Matthias Pintscher’s new cello concerto, Un despertar (An Awakening), with Copenhagen’s DR SymfoniOrkestret under the composer’s own direction.

Two seasons ago, Alisa played the world premiere of Pintscher’s piece in three performances with the Boston Symphony and François-Xavier Roth, and reprised it this past spring with the co-commissioning Danish Radio Symphony. US Tour with Czech Philharmonic


This fall, Alisa Weilerstein joins the Czech Philharmonic and conductor Semyon Bychkov for a seven-city tour across the U.S. On tour, Alisa spotlights Dvořák’s Cello Concerto in B minor, one of the most beloved works by the Czech composer.

Following their October 24 concert at London’s Royal Academy of Music, Alisa and the orchestra make their way to Carnegie Hall for the first stop of their US tour (Oct 27).
