Prokofiev with Rafael Payare and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra
Alisa Weilerstein joins her husband, conductor Rafael Payare, and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra for Sergei Prokofiev’s Sinfonia concertante on Wednesday, February 17. “Let’s face it, Alisa Weilerstein can do no wrong,” wrote the Aspen Times of Alisa’s interpretation of this work at last summer’s Aspen Music Festival; “as impressive as Weilerstein’s technical command was, even more satisfying was how she made it all into an instrument spinning a tale, unfolding a saga.”
The program at Symphony Hall also includes Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, “Pathétique”. Find tickets and more information here.
