This Spring: Larcher World Premiere with New York Phil and Bavarian Radio Symphony


This spring, Alisa Weilerstein gives the world and European premieres of Austrian composer Thomas Larcher’s new concerto – a co-commission of the New York Philharmonic and Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra – with the New York Philharmonic under Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider and the Bavarian Radio Symphony under Alan Gilbert, respectively.

This performance marks the third new concerto for Alisa this season, following Gabriela Ortiz’s Dzonot and Richard Blackford’s The Recovery of Paradise.

Upcoming Spring Performances


This spring, Alisa Weilerstein presents several livestreamed and in-person concerts featuring solo and chamber music repertoire. On April 8, Alisa joins frequent collaborator pianist Inon Barnatan for a concert featuring Beethoven Cello Sonatas No. 2, 3, and 5 at the Philharmonic Society of Orange County. 

Later, on April 10, La Jolla Music Society presents two in-person, socially distanced concerts featuring Alisa performing Franck’s Sonata in A Major for Cello and Piano and Arensky’s Piano Trio No.

Performance with the Czech Philharmonic


On March 9, Alisa Weilerstein joins the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and Jakub Hrůša for a performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor. Hosted by Marek Eben, the program also features Josef Suk’s A Summer’s Tale, Musical Poem for Large Orchestra, Op. 29. The concert will be streamed on Czech TV, YouTube, and social media accounts, including Alisa Weilerstein’s Facebook page at 8:15pm CEST/ 1:15 ET on March 9.
