Dzonot Concerto with Rafael Payare and the San Diego Symphony, and FRAGMENTS in Germany


To end the season, Alisa reprises Gabriela Ortiz’s Dzonot  concerto for the second time this spring with Rafael Payare conducting the San Diego Symphony (May 9–10).

Premiered with Gustavo Dudamel leading the Los Angeles Philharmonic in fall of 2024, was released last summer on the composer’s GRAMMY-winning album Yanga, when Gramophone reported: “Weilerstein and the Los Angelenos play Dzonot with such conviction and technical mastery that I did a double take when I read in the booklet that this recording is taken from the premiere performances.”

Bach Cello Suites Available on Cleveland Orchestra’s Adella Streaming Platform


Beginning February 25 at 7pm EST, the Cleveland Orchestra presents a recital performance of Alisa Weilerstein playing Bach’s complete cycle of Solo Cello Suites recorded live at Severance Hall in January 2021.

These six pieces, written from 1717-1723 for Bach’s own use, were rediscovered in the 20th century to become one of the greatest and most-loved works for cello — showcasing a player’s artistry in a journey across a range and depth of emotions.

Upcoming Livestream Concerts


This winter, Alisa Weilerstein performs livestreamed concerts with Chamber Music Northwest, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, and the Cleveland Orchestra. 

Premiering on January 30, Alisa joins pianist and frequent collaborator Inon Barnatan for a recital of De Falla’s “Suite Populaire Espagnole” and Rachmaninoff’s “Sonata for Cello & Piano in G Minor, Op. 19” at Chamber Music Northwest (available online until February 6).
