Alisa Weilerstein’s January/February 2026 Highlights


To kick off the year, Alisa will perform Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto with the Palm Beach Symphony (Jan 13). In Europe, she plays the Britten Cello Symphony with Alan Gilbert leading his own NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra (Jan 22–25) and a recital of Brahms and Prokofiev with Russian pianist Pavel Kolesnikov in Wigmore Hall (Jan 26). Alisa will then travel to Spain to perform the Lutosławski Cello Concerto with the Spanish National Orchestra under the baton of Krzysztof Urbański (Jan 30–Feb 1)

She returns to the Detroit Symphony for performances of Joan Tower’s A New Day, a piece co-commissioned by the orchestra, conducted by Music Director Jader Bignamini (Feb 13–15).

Performing with La Jolla Summer Festival


This August, Alisa Weilerstein returns to the La Jolla Music Society to perform in a series of live-streamed concerts for the annual SummerFest. Curated by Alisa’s longtime collaborator, pianist Inon Barnatan, the 2020 program kicks off on August 21 with a concert featuring Ives’ The Unanswered Question and Schubert’s String Quartet in C major.

Later, on August 23, Alisa joins Barnatan and violinist Yura Lee for Beethoven’s Cello Sonata and Mendelssohn’s 1st Piano Trio.

Performing for Aspen Music Festival’s 2020 Virtual Season


On July 26, Alisa Weilerstein joins pianist Inon Barnatan for a recital at Aspen Music Festival’s 2020 Virtual Season. The pair perform Beethoven’s Cello Sonata no. 3 and 5. Part of the 2020 Mercedes T. Bass Sunday Concert Series, this free recital will be available at 3:00pm GMT on the Aspen Music Festival Virtual Stage and will be rebroadcast on July 28 at 7:00pm GMT.
