Performances throughout Summer 2021


This summer, Alisa Weilerstein performs in many of the top classical music festivals across the United States and Germany. On June 19, Alisa performs at the Twenty Fast Forward Festival at Konfort Erfurt, performing Bach Cello Suites 1, 2 and 3. Later, on June 23, Alisa performs at the Ludwigsburg Festival, performing a program of Tavener, Janáček, Beethoven, and Shostakovich with Anna Prohaska (soprano), Veronika Eberle (violin) and Iddo Bar-Shaï (piano).

In July, Alisa performs two concerts at the renowned Aspen Music Festival. On July 11, Alisa joins Inon Barnatan, violinist Stefan Jackiw, conductor Ludovic Morlot, and the Aspen Festival Orchestra for Beethoven’s Triple Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Piano. Then on July 15, the trio returns to the stage to perform an all-Beethoven recital. Following her performances in Aspen, Alisa travels to the Colorado Music Festival, performing the world premiere of Joan Tower’s Cello Concerto with the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra and conductor Peter Oundjian on July 25.

At the end of July, Alisa returns to La Jolla Music Society SummerFest, performing in a  variety of concerts from July 30- August 10. On August 6, Alisa joins the San Diego Symphony, and its music director Rafael Payare, for Saint-Saens’ Cello Concerto, which will be performed at a gala concert celebrating the grand opening of the orchestra’s spectacular new permanent venue, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. Concluding her summer season, Alisa performs Schumann’s Cello Concerto at the Sun Valley Music Festival on August 12.
